Hi, I am the owner at Sit Means Sit located in Murfreesboro. I moved here in 1996 from Long Island, NY. In 2001, I graduated from MTSU with a degree in criminal justice. Since I was 5, I have been a soccer player and competed at the college level. I am also an avid Crossfitter. I have an AMAZING daughter who shares her father’s love for animals.
After being in the corporate world since I graduated college, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue a career in canine instruction. After working with several different trainers and then attending a school for professional training of our furry friends, I made the decision to open a Sit Means Sit franchise. I have worked with and been around dogs all my life, anywhere from high obedience/protection dogs to your basic household pet.
The more I get involved with training and learning about dog behavior the more I realize I have an unmatched passion for training dogs. There is nothing more satisfying than having a dog that is well-behaved and well-mannered. This will create a happy family and a happy dog! Hey there, I handle sales at Sit Means Sit in Murfreesboro. I grew up on my family’s large farm in Pall Mall, TN. After graduating high school I moved here to attend MTSU. I got my degree in Horticulture and opened my first Garden Center in 2001 in Lascassas. I have three wonderful children who definitely keep me on my toes. I enjoy anything fitness, being with family, love to travel, plants are my jam, and dogs bring me much joy.
Since I was a child, I have always enjoyed talking to people and making people smile. Hence why I have always enjoyed selling plants. I became part of the Sit Means Sit family for the same reason. Making people and their four legged friends happy. Once I saw the relationship Sit Means Sit creates between owners and their dogs I knew I wanted to be a part of that process.
Being a part of Sit Means Sit has allowed me to meet so many amazing people and the opportunity to love on all the dogs, but most of all it has allowed me to be a part of building a wonderful client/dog relationship. Nothing beats going to work daily to wagging tails and smiles.

Oh, where oh where do I start this review? I have a 14-year-old daughter that is high functioning autistic, and for years we have been talking about getting a dog that can help her through her rough times throughout her daily routine. We decided to get her a Golden-Doodle, and if you have ever been around one, they are very friendly, very active, with that being said I knew she needed some kind of dog training. With all the resources and research, I came across Sit Means Sit Company, after doing massive research on them I decided to do a free, yes, I SAID FREE consultation and get more information about them. Once I walked into the business, I already felt comfortable and welcomed by the owner Teddy. At the consultation he explained what his company does, how they do it and so on, and asked me my concerns about our golden doodle and what our goals are for her. After a few days of thinking it over, I decided to go with this company, and I can say that was the BEST decision I could have made for this dog. While they had our precious goldendoodle and working on her training, I got daily updates and videos of her progress which helped my daughter feel better about her dog being at training. I absolutely love that they do group sessions with you and your dog and other people that have gone through the training, and I love that this company goes with you forever with the dog. This means that if our dog decides to stop listening in a couple of years, Sit Means Sit is in my corner every step of the way. Hands down I am thankful for Sit Means Sit Company, and the amazing things they have done with my daughter’s golden-doodle. I could not have done this without their support. Sit Means Sit has done wonders with our dog Daisy. She was having issues with resource guarding and aggression toward other dogs, and they have helped us train her away from those problematic behaviors. One day of training and it was like bringing home a different dog! She is much calmer and more obedient.

Sit Means Sit is the best possible choice I could have made for me and my pup! They helped me work with his specific needs and gave me the tools I needed to feel confident walking my dog around my apartment complex and taking him to public places. He has not been exposed to much in his life, but he has grown so confident in his abilities! We have developed trust with each other and he has behaviorally improved so much thanks to this program!
Awesome experience all the way around! We have a two year old very stubborn & strong willed Malinois that these guys did a great job with. We are very happy with the results & were very impressed with the communication beginning with the consultation , during his five day stay & with the education & insight they provided us with so that we could properly continue Rykers training at home. Teddy and Elijah are excellent mentors. They not only helped our dog Camo in her training, they helped us in our understanding of Camos and others dog’s behaviors. Sit means sit is worth every penny, highly recommend this location!
